Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites
If I had a dollar for every time I said how much I love Nordstrom, I’d be able to afford this bag. Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale only happens once a year and to be completely honest, besides Christmas, it really is my favorite holiday (other than my birthday). Is there anything better than being able to shop for fall’s top trends two months in advance….ON SALE?  If you’re lucky enough to be a cardholder (I’ll hold off on my former Nordstrom employee rewards card pitch), you get to shop the sale before the general public.

The sale opens up completely on July 17 at 7:30 PM – make sure to shop early, prices officially go up August 4!

I’m proud to admit that I’ll probably shop the sale up until the last day possible, especially when I’m finding new steals everyday. Do you shop the Anniversary Sale? What are you looking to add to your fall wardrobe?

Cruise Chicago for a Cause

I think if there’s one thing all Chicagoans can agree on, it’s how beautiful the city is in the summer. The beach has been a frequent spot of mine these past few weeks, but with views like this, who wouldn’t come here after a long work day? I’ve come to the conclusion, the best way to enjoy Lake Michigan and a beautiful Chicago day/night is to #getontheboat.

Get on board with the twelve community and the Jesse White Foundation for the third annual Cruise Chicago for a Cause! Join the fun on the Anita Dee II for a 3 hour open full bar and a view of the city skyline only made more beautiful by the Navy Pier fireworks.

Save $20 on early bird tickets until July 15th!

Skincare Spotlight V. 2

Skincare Spotlight V. 2
*Blend of Italian olive, organic sunflower and jojoba oils to dissolve surface impurities and makeup without leaving skin feeling tight or dry.

While Bobbi Brown is primarily known for her makeup, her skincare has been changing the game one product at a time. After being introduced to her skincare line, it wasn’t hard for me to gravitate towards Bobbi’s Soothing Cleansing Oil. A cleanser that CAN remove makeup, especially eye makeup, deserves some SERIOUS credit.

Miss V.1 of Skincare Spotlight? Here ya go.

State Street

IMG_4367 There is truly nothing better than summertime in Chicago. Especially, when you have to deal with winter-like conditions (understatement of the year) for almost half the year. Between street festivals, North Avenue Beach, and rooftop adventures with perfect views of the city – you can bet Chicagoans take advantage of the warm weather all summer long.

While nothing beats the daytime sun, those cooler summer nights are perfect for outfits you’d prefer to not sweat in (yes, I went there). If you know me at all by now, you know the ‘all black everything’ look is a staple in my closet. I love pairing these looks with bold statements like a bright lip or a contrasting shoe choice.

This week I was finally able to put this scoop neck romper to use for a work happy hour event while wearing  breaking in my Michael Kors platform sandals. For the record, I do not recommend trying to walk down the middle of State Street while breaking in almost 5 inch heels.
